British Grand Prix arrives at Cadwell Park

Monday, July 12 2010

Cadwell Park is revving up for one of its fastest events of the season this weekend (17/18 July) as the Lincolnshire circuit welcomes the 30th annual British Superkart Grand Prix.

Five different classes will be competing over the weekend, including the classic F210 National, Division 1 Superkarts, F250 National, F125 Open and F125 ICC.

There will also be action from the pan-European International Superracekart series, which features drivers from the Netherlands, Finland, Germany and Sweden.

In the Division 1 competition, the man to beat will be reigning European Champion Gavin Bennett. Although he has amassed several UK and international titles, Bennett is yet to scoop overall victory at the Superkart Grand Prix and he will be hoping to beat rivals including Carl Hulme, Paul Kennings and Trevor Roberts to clinch the coveted top prize.

The F250 National class is wide open, with numerous drivers having the capability to win this race. Firm favourite for victory is reigning British Superkart Champion James O'Reilly, although he will face a formidable challenge from 2008 Jason Dredge, who is looking to take back the title that O'Reilly snatched from him last year.

To celebrate three decades of the British Superkart GP, there will also be guest appearances from previous winners including Martin Hines and Carolynn Hoy, many of whom will be demonstrating classic Superkart machinery.

Tickets for the MSA Superkarts Grand Prix at Cadwell Park on 17/18 July are available from £10 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
