Four weeks until the MCE BSB ‘Party in the Park’!

Friday, July 26 2013

There is now just four weeks to wait until the biggest sporting event of the year arrives in Lincolnshire and Cadwell Park is already building up for the return of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship this August Bank Holiday weekend (24/25/26).

The event is one of the highlights of the Championship season and fans from across the country are set to flock to the Louth circuit in their tens of thousands to soak up the incredible party atmosphere - and witness some of the world's leading riders taking on the most challenging circuit in the country.

Defending champion Shane 'Shakey' Byrne missed out last season through injury but his return this season is a big event for the most successful rider in MCE BSB history; Cadwell Park marks the home round of his Kawasaki team's title sponsors, Rapid Solicitors, based in nearby Hull.

There will be plenty of support for the local team too as Louth's Samsung Honda aim for more success at their home round following their triple podium finish last time out at Brands Hatch. Lincoln's Alex Lowes and Louth-based Japanese ace Ryuichi Kiyonari line up for the team, and with both riders in the title fight they'll be taking the challenge to Byrne in the two races this August Bank Holiday.

A host of local contenders will also be in the hunt across the support classes with Boston's Ben Wilson gunning for glory in the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship. The leading support race produced the closest finish of the season so far last time out at Brands Hatch with title rivals Stuart Easton and Alastair Seeley separated by just 0.004 seconds at the chequered flag! In the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship Lincoln's Lee Jackson aims to add to his podium tally in his rookie season.

The spectator experience at Cadwell Park has  been enhanced this season with the circuit investing in a new footbridge to link the paddock with the pit straight, crossing two sections of the circuit from startline to Coppice and the return leg between Mansfield and the Mountain section, positioned carefully so no spectator views are obscured.

The circuit has also just opened a new childrens' playground, whilst a fun fair will be in operation and a motorcycle trials team will be performing on Sunday and Monday.

Discounted advance tickets are available to purchase online: weekend admission, plus camping, is £55 online in advance but fans are advised to book camping tickets soon as less than a third of the spots remain.

Raceday (Monday) admission is just £26 online and children under 13 go free all weekend. For more information and to book, call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
