Rally action returns to Cadwell Park this spring

Monday, March 11 2013

Stage rallying returns to Cadwell Park next month (7 April), when the TJS Self Drive Alan Healy Memorial Rally will provide plenty of sideways action all around the Lincolnshire venue!

Last year's inaugural event proved to be a hit with fans and with the Border Motor Club, who organise the rally. The second running has also attracted a new sponsor in TJS Self Drive, which is owned by Terry Sayles, a regular competitor in Euroboss and FIA Historic Formula 1 events.

This year's rally will retain many of the stage miles from the first event, with tweaks to include more off-road action. The 10 special stages, covering 45 miles, includes many of the circuit's legendary sections, including the Mountain and Gooseneck.

Last year's event featured an eclectic range of machinery from classic Escorts and Chevettes, to modern rally specials, including Subarus, Fiestas and Peugeots. Whilst the newer cars will provide a tour de force of traction technology, the older rear-wheel-drive vehicles are expected to supply plenty of power-sliding thrills.

Clerks of the Course Tony Cope and Blair Bushby said: "'The organisers will be doing everything they can to ensure all who attend will have an enjoyable day of motorsport, and we look forward to seeing you on the day."

Prospective competitors are encouraged to visit www.bordermotorclub.co.uk, whilst the organisers are also looking for Marshals, who can register at www.rallystageteam.co.uk

Tickets for the TJS Self Drive Alan Healy Memorial Rally at Cadwell Park on 7 April are available in advance from £10, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
