Hartley makes Superbike debut with Halsall Racing Kawasaki

Sunday, March 09 2014

The MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship's youngest ever contender Harry Hartley had his first chance to test the Halsall Racing Kawasaki at Oulton Park as he counts down to his debut season.

Hartley joins Lee Costello in Martin Halsall's team for the forthcoming season having previously been a podium contender in the British 125GP class before making his debut in the Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship in 2013. The test gave the youngster his first opportunity to adapt to the new 1000cc Superbike before he becomes the youngest ever rider to compete in the MCE BSB Championship at Brands Hatch on Easter Friday at 17 years old.

Hartley said: "The test went really well and I was really looking forward to my first test on the Superbike. We had some mixed weather which meant we didn't have as much time as we would have liked in the dry, but I really enjoyed the first ride and it's all looking fantastic so far! The Superbike is better and easy to get on with than I thought and I feel happy with what we did today. I'm really looking forward to having another test on the bike now I know what to expect for our next time out."
