A grand tour with a big cause - marshal's epic bike journey!

Thursday, April 18 2019

One of Cadwell Park's control marshals has spent more than ten hours in the saddle of his BMW GS1200 to raise money for a charity which provides motorcycle experiences for wounded veterans.

Mike Savage, a veteran himself, took on the challenge with 15 other riders which covered the Lands End to John 'O Groats route combined with the North Coast 500 - a total of 2,443 miles over seven days.

When he's not working for MotorSport Vison helping to keep our trackday customers safe, Mike is an avid trackday participant on both two and four wheels. He was keen to support a cause which provides the experience of motorcycle tours to veterans who have served in the British Armed Forces.

He said:"Being on the bike for that long was harder work than I could ever have imagined, but it was a real adventure and we were all proud to support a cause which is close to our hearts."

The total seat time for one day of the trip alone was 10 hours 38 minutes and so far Mike has raised £900 for Bike Tours for the Wounded.
