Cadwell Park upgrades installed ahead of 2019 season

Wednesday, January 23 2019

With a busy season ahead in 2019, the Cadwell Park team is taking advantage of the quiet winter months to make improvements across the venue.

Track users will be pleased to hear about upgrades to the kerbs at the Mountain, both on approach and on the Mountain itself. These are in the process of being changed to 'Vallelunga', which are the familiar FIA-spec kerbs. This work will bring the Mountain section in-line with most other areas on the circuit.

In addition, visitors to the Cadwell Park Venue Office will notice a fresh new look to the circuit reception, aimed at bringing spectators and race fans closer to Cadwell Park's rich heritage.

Included in the display are items which have previously not been publicly available to view, including historic circuit extension plans and building architects drawings, original pieces of artwork commissioned by well-known motorsport artists, and even an original hand-printed race day poster which is believed to be from the 1940s.

Cadwell Park Circuit Manager, Paul Woodford said: "We're very busy at this time of year making general improvements around the venue, some of which are not always visible to visitors, but we thought people might like to see photos of the work underway to improve the kerbs on the Mountain.

We're particularly excited about our heritage display, with a selection of our favourite artefacts finally on view for fans of the circuit to enjoy. With our heritage lunch events at Christmas, together with our annual charity nights and a growing number of historic race fixtures, there's a lot of interest in the history of Cadwell Park. It's always nice to realise that once again in 2019, we'll all be part of making that history."

2018 saw the introduction of new toilet blocks on Park Straight and in the woods at the Club Hairpin, and a refurbishment of the shower block in the paddock is in the process of being completed, helping us to maintain the high standards customers have come to expect of an MSV circuit.

With more family entertainment than ever planned alongside events at Cadwell Park in 2019, the whole team is looking forward to welcoming racers, fans, marshals, officials and track day participants back to the Lincolnshire Wolds to enjoy some of the most spectacular events on the UK motorsport calendar.
