BARC at Cadwell Park for the final time this year

Monday, September 30 2019

The British Automobile Racing Club return to Cadwell Park for their final visit to the Lincolnshire circuit of 2019, with a host of championships set to be decided this weekend (5-6 October). There'll be a range of diverse racing series competing from saloon cars to hatchbacks and open-top race cars.

Competitors of the Kumho BMW Championship will take to the undulating Lincolnshire Wolds circuit as they battle the twists and turns of the track for two races across the weekend. The German marque will be well represented with regulations allowing any production BMW sold within the UK to compete. This helps promote a mixed grid of cars featuring both new and old machinery with vehicles split into classes dependent on power to weight ratios.

The Hyundai Coupe Cup will also take to Cadwell Park this weekend for the penultimate round of their 2019 season. The single-marque series caters for both first and second generation two-litre vehicles with a set of control parts ensuring vehicles are built to identical standards. This results in close competition as drivers battle their way around the 'mini-Nurburgring' for the final time this year.

Retro Volkswagen action takes place with the Classic VW Cup set to crown their first ever champion. Having being granted championship status this year visitors can expect to see competitors battling it out until the chequered flag falls in a bid to make history as the first Classic VW Cup Champion.

The popular BARC Saloon Series will bring plenty of production tin-tops to the track with numerous marques and models all coming together on one grid. Regulations permit all saloon cars that comply with the Motorsport UK Blue Book to race with a diverse spread of vehicles ensured. Sharing the grid this weekend is the Honda VTEC Challenge, a series which allows any production Honda to compete. Expect to see plenty of Civics, Accords, Integras and more.

The Junior Saloon Car Championship offers young guns between the ages of 14 and 17 the chance to experience life behind the wheel of a race car. The Citroen Saxo is the vehicle of choice for the championship with competitors honing their race craft behind the wheel of the popular hot hatchback before graduating towards numerous other series.

Open top race car action appears in the form of the Caterham Graduates Championship this weekend with a busy grid of the popular British vehicles set to feature. With classes catering for both recent machines and older variants there will be plenty of pulse-raising action guaranteed.
