Thundersport Rumble into Cadwell Park this Bank Holiday weekend

Sunday, May 19 2019

Cadwell Park is set for a Bank Holiday bonanza of motorcycle racing this weekend (Sunday-Monday 26-27 May), featuring a packed programme of two-wheeled entertainment.

The highlight of the event will be the "King of the Mountain" race, also competing will be all classes from full Superbike specification machines to the world renowned Thundersport Superteens - the training ground for future Superbike and Grand Prix Champions.

The club's Thundersport GP1 Elite is their premier series and features the most powerful motorcycles in club-level UK motorcycle racing. Visitors can see machines from BMW, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda competing to open class regulations that give competitors the freedom to tune their machines to perfection.

The tricky nature of the Cadwell Park circuit means there are no certainties this weekend in any of the classes and things can quickly change with over half the season remaining.

Another popular series on the bill is the Golden Era Superbikes for pre-2000 machines. Many of these famous bikes, once piloted by riders including World Superbike Champions Carl Fogarty and Colin Edwards, will return to the racetrack. Further retro motorcycles can be seen and heard roaring around Cadwell Park in the Sparklight Golden Era Supersport category.

Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the venue's open paddock, and the chance to meet the riders and take a closer look at the bikes as they are prepared for action. Spectators can also enjoy the lively atmosphere that Thundersport GB events are renowned for.

Tickets for the Thundersport GB Championships at Cadwell Park (26-27 May) are available online for £12 until midday on Wednesday or on the gate from £16 with free entry for under-13s. For more information, please call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
