Watch great races and events from 2017

Friday, December 29 2017

Avoid the queues in the post-Christmas sales by staying at home and watching some of the year's best races at our circuits to get in the mood for a new season of action in 2018.

We've enjoyed another great season of entertainment from some of the best championships in the country, and a few international series too. Pour a glass of mulled wine and grab a jumbo tin of Quality Street whilst we take you through some of the highlights.

British Superbike Championship

This year's British Superbike Championship season saw many twists and turns before boiling down to a straight fight between five-time champion Shane 'Shakey' Byrne and Leon Haslam.

The season began with Shakey missing the opening rounds after a warm-up crash at Donington, whilst Haslam also lost valuable points. Just before the Showdown stage, the riders headed to Cadwell Park in August for their annual fixture at the legendary motorcycle venue. This short film made from onboard clips is the perfect way to enjoy the Cadwell challenge.

The Showdown climaxed on the full Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in October. Haslam had a useful points lead over Shakey and would surely claim his first major motorcycling championship....

British Touring Car Championship

The BTCC brought the usual drama and entertainment to four of our circuits this season, and Donington Park staged a storming third race which served notice of Ashley Sutton's championship-winning potential.

Sutton grabbed his first win of the year at Oulton Park just a few weeks later, showing his mastery of the championship's toughest track.

Title rival Colin Turkington had gathered plenty of momentum in the opening half of the season and looked poised to capitalise at Snetterton with a great start in the first race at the Norfolk circuit.

By the time the championship headed to the finale at Brands Hatch it was a two-horse race between Sutton and Turkington. Sutton prevailed, but Turkington made him work hard for it with a stunning win in the penultimate round.

Blancpain GT

The Blancpain GT Championship visited Brands Hatch in May, and Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini pairing Mirko Bortolotti and Christian Engelhart dominated the event on the way to title success. The image of over 30 supercars taking on the Grand Prix circuit was a sight (and sound) to behold!

British GT Championship

The UK's domestic GT championship didn't disappoint either, with stunning machinery in action at Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and, as seen here, Snetterton. The Norfolk track showcased the championship well with plenty of excitement on offer.

American SpeedFest V

American SpeedFest has come a long way since it's popular debut and the fifth edition was the biggest and best yet. The headlining NASCAR Whelen Euro Series provided the on-track action, and produced this great programme on main race day, as seen here.
