BEFORE THE STORM
The BMCRC Club Bike Championship event at Brands Hatch in March
was the last to take place at the circuit before the pandemic
brought everything to a halt in the UK with the first national
lockdown.
Club bike racers have traditionally been amongst the first to
sample the Indy circuit each season and all being well BMCRC and
Thundersport GB are both set for early season fixtures in
2021. |

THE CLUB LEVEL COMEBACK
As lockdown restrictions lifted, motorsport began a phased return
in July with grassroots racing from early that month.
MSV's first venues to welcome back competitive action were
Snetterton, and Cadwell Park (pictured) which kicked off its
resumed season with a BARC Club Car Championship event. |

THE BTCC RETURNS
Following the sport's initial return at a club level in July,
major national championships returning behind closed doors from
August.
The British Touring Car Championship was among the first of these
on the opening two days of that month, as Dan Cammish, Colin
Turkington and eventual champion Ashley Sutton won the season's
first three races. |

OULTON'S AUGUST OPENER
Picturesque Oulton Park hosted the first round of the British GT
Championship in early August too, as supercars descended upon
Cheshire for two hour-long races.
Michael O'Brien and World's Fastest Gamer James Baldwin won the
first of these in a Jenson Button-entered McLaren. This event
returns to its traditional Easter slot for 2021. |

BSB HEADS EAST
The Bennetts British Superbike Championship got underway in August
too and following the initial season opener at Donington Park, the
series travelled to Snetterton where this photo was taken.
Christian Iddon became a BSB race-winner for the first time that
weekend, sharing the spoils with teammate and 2020 champion Josh
Brookes and Glenn Irwin on an intense triple-header weekend. |

ATTACK THE MOUNTAIN
Cadwell Park's headline BSB 'Party in the Park' was sadly
sidelined for 2020 amist the ongoing situation, but that didn't
stop the Lincolnshire Wolds venue from hosting plenty of great
motorsport.
That included the high performance pursuit of ultimate lap times
at Time Attack in the summer. |

OLD BUT GOLD
Stunning machinery from motor racing's past visited MSV's venues
throughout the latter part of the summer, with Historic Sports Club
highlights including the Legends of Brands Hatch Superprix and
Cadwell Park Wolds Trophy.
This Can-Am McLaren raced at the Oulton Park Gold Cup, a three-day
celebration of the sport's past and the Cheshire circuit's
signature meeting. |

GIANTS ON TRACK
The British Truck Racing Championship's giants were restricted to a
truncated season in 2020, but that did include a visit to Norfolk's
Snetterton circuit.
Racing trucks can accelerate as rapidly as a Porsche 911 despite
weighing in at five tonnes. These behemoths are set to return to
Brands Hatch, Donington Park and Snetterton next year. |

BROOKES ON THE DOUBLE
Australia's Josh Brookes was crowned as Bennetts British Superbike
Champion for the second time, following his two wins on the Brands
Hatch Grand Prix circuit on the final day of the season.
A scintillating opening race was won by Jason O'Halloran on the
Saturday afternoon before Brookes wrapped the title up with a
masterclass in Sunday's final two races. |

SUTTON CLINCHES THE CROWN
Ashley Sutton won his second BTCC title at Brands Hatch, after
wresting the crown from four-time champion Colin Turkington on the
final day of the season on the Brands Hatch Indy
circuit.
Sutton won the penultimate race of the season, and made certain of
it by outracing his main rival in the final race of the year too,
behind the wheel of his reworked Infiniti Q50. |

RACING INTO DECEMBER
The race season carried right on into the winter months this year,
with Donington Park's season ending with a 750 Motor Club event on
12-13 December.
The club organised a range of races for saloon and sports cars on
the national circuit to bring MSV's calendar for 2020 to a
close. |
