Cadwell Park carries out circuit resurfacing project

Friday, April 16 2010

Cadwell Park has carried out resurfacing work at Hairpin and Park Corner approach as part of circuit owner MotorSport Vision's ongoing development of track facilities for competitors and trackday participants.

More than two hundred tonnes of Prixmat surface material, well known for its high performance friction surface qualities, has been laid over three thousand square metres of track surface at two key sections of the circuit: the approach to Park Corner and the Hairpin bend on the Woodland circuit configuration.

The resurfacing work, which was completed in one day by a 15-strong crew, follows a major development project at Cadwell Park earlier this year to extend the run-off area along an 80 metre stretch of Barn Corner.

The combination of the increased run-off area and smoother track surface will offer Cadwell Park's riders and drivers an even greater level of protection, whether they are competing at the Louth venue or just taking part in a car or bike trackday.

Cadwell Park circuit manager Jon Rush said: "In addition to the Barn Corner run-off extension work, this resurfacing project is the latest part of our ongoing track maintenance and improvement programme. We've got one of the busiest race calendars in Cadwell Park's history this year and the circuit is now looking better than ever."

Among the series that will benefit from the new track surface in 2010 is the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship, which visits Cadwell Park twice this year in May and August, the British Superkart Grand Prix in July and the Modified Live performance car festival - a new event to visit the circuit - in August.
