Stunning selection of classic bikes head to Cadwell Park

Monday, June 20 2011

Iconic motorcycles from Norton, BSA, Vincent and Triumph will be on show when the Vintage Motor Cycle Championships head to Cadwell Park this weekend (June 25/26).

Motorcycle fans will have the opportunity to take a trip down memory lane with bikes spanning five decades, racing around the 2.2-mile Lincolnshire circuit. The earliest machines set to charge around the track will be from the 1930s, and they will be complemented by bikes from the 50s, 60s and 70s. A collection of sidecars are also expected to compete.

The Vintage Motor Cycle Club (VMCC) was formed in 1946 by a band of 38 enthusiasts and today membership stands at around 16,000.

A superb line-up of races are scheduled throughout the weekend with events for 250cc, 350cc, 500cc and 750cc machines. Formula Bantams are on the race card and there will be races for bikes from the famous Italian manufacturer Ducati.
