Cadwell Park set for classic weekend

Saturday, July 25 2015

The inaugural Cadwell Park International Classic kicks off today (Saturday), for a weekend of historic bike racing, star parades, guest appearances, displays, live music and much more at the Lincolnshire Wolds venue.

Cadwell Park is synonymous with motorcycle racing, and some of the sport's biggest names will be appearing in parades and being interviewed by Steve Plater and James Haydon on the main stage in the paddock today. Star guests include multiple World Champions Giacomo Agostini and Phil Read, 500cc Championship runner-up Teuvo Länsivuori, serial TT winner Mick Grant, and local heroes Roger Marshall and Roger Burnett.

Track action will also include qualifying for a number of historic race series, including the International Classic GP and Superbikes, plus five races from the International Historic Racing Organisation for GP bikes from 1945-1972, Landsdowne Classic Series for pre-1963 Group 1 and 2 motorcycles, Camathias Cup for classic sidecars, and Charlie's Trophy for pre-1990 GP 2-stroke bikes.

Visitors can take to the track on a vintage bus tour, with star guides Plater and Marshall, and events are accompanied by live music from the Shannon Reilly Trio throughout the day on the main stage, followed by an evening set from Lady Luck at 6:30pm, and The Tuesdays, who will be playing in the Clubhouse from 8:30pm.
