Get set for a vintage year with MSV’s retro motorsport festivals

Wednesday, January 30 2019

Vintage Motorsport Festivals featuring Formula Vintage are coming to all five of MSV's racing circuits in 2019, with retrospective extravaganzas at Oulton Park, Donington Park, Cadwell Park, Brands Hatch and Snetterton throughout the year.

From May to September, there will be one event per month, with each featuring superb racing action from an incredible range of vintage sports cars, creating sights, sounds and even smells that you just don't get in modern day competition! Meanwhile, off-track attractions will include period car displays and themed food and drink to create a relaxed and golden age atmosphere.

The race action will be provided by the throwback Formula Vintage category, starring a wide range of cars from the pre-war to immediate post-war period. The cars are the stars, and offer an authentic glimpse back to a time of unparalleled bravado and pioneering.

Many of the machines you see in action have an interesting racing history with outings at the Le Mans 24 Hours and Mille Miglia. Unlike modern race cars, many of these machines compete without seatbelts or other modern safety features too - it's a real throwback.

Each meeting will feature its own unique race line-up, including signature trophy races, with the first event taking place at Cheshire's Oulton Park on 18 May. The Cheshire Life Concours will support the event, with entrants parked on the banking overlooking the circuit outside the Fogarty Moss Centre.

The second, at Donington Park on 29 June, will see the VSCC highlight its heritage with the Seaman Historic Trophy being contested by a gaggle of ERAs, Maseratis and their contemporaries.

Cadwell Park will hold the third event of the year on 27 July, a true reminder of when single seater categories such as Formula Three were regular attendees at the Lincolnshire circuit. The event will feature the Triple M Register, Frazer Nash Race, Herbert Austin Challenge and the under-30's Race

The Vintage Sports-Car Club then vists Brands Hatch on August Bank Holiday on the Indy circuit to celebrate the club's 85th anniversary. Completing the quintet of events will be a trip to Snetterton on 21 September for a new six hour endurance race, run in handicap style to give all entered cars a chance of winning.

The Vintage Sports Car Club (VSCC) has provided an arena for people to enjoy pre and post-war cars competitively and socially since 1934, and is one of the largest and best-regarded motoring clubs in the world.

Discounted advance tickets for each festival are available now with FREE entry for under-13s. For more information and to buy click here or call 0843 453 9000.
